Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03 will be launched in India in December, will compete with KTM and Kawasaki, know what are its features?

Yamaha will launch the YZF-R3 and MT-03 in India on December 15. Both the bikes will debut together. The Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03 are based on the same platform but differ in terms of design. So, both models use the same 321 CC, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. This engine generates power of 42 BHP and torque of 29.6 Newton meters. Again, the features list includes LED lights and an LCD with a host of readouts including speedometer, odometer, trip meter, tachometer, gear position indicator and fuel level readout, however, both the bikes do not get Bluetooth connectivity.

Even the hardware is the same on the Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03. Both ride on USD front forks and a monoshock. Again, braking hardware includes a single front and rear disc along with dual-channel ABS. These are mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in road-biased rubber. While the R3 gets a split LED headlight and full-faired bodywork with a duct in the middle, the MT-03 is a naked motorcycle. It has a single-pod headlight with a projector LED in the center, along with which there is also a DRL on the side.
Yamaha will offer both the R3 and MT-03 at select Blue Square dealerships. Deliveries will begin immediately after the launch, which is scheduled for December 15, as mentioned earlier. After launch, the R3 will compete with the likes of KTM RC 390, TVS APACHE, RTR 310 and Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Ninja 400. It will compete with the new KTM 390 Duke, Tvs Apache RTR 310 and BMW G 310R.
